Welcome indeed! to Wyatt Underwood's website. Relax, make yourself comfortable, enjoy.
Wait! Even while you relax and get comfortable, take a moment to wish, hope, or just think at 2013, that it be kind and rewarding to the rest of us, the most of us, for whom the previous several years have not been very kind.
Wyatt is a poet who has been several other identities. I know, we don't usually call what we do a "identity" but it hardly seems right to call programming a thing either. It fits, though. Wyatt has identified himself fiercely with what he did most of his life. He has worked in the unmanned exploration of space, in free-lance programming, in systems administration and database administration. He rides a Harley Davidson, and has since 1994. He rode other motorcycles before that, back to 1972. But what he does now is write poems and stories. He performs his poems in open mics (microphones) in Los Angeles and Frazier Park, California. He has (self-published) five books of poems.
Wyatt spent about ten years in Brasil, from about two to about twelve, with a year off to do first grade in Baton Rouge. He still smiles when he remembers Brasil. (No, he no longer speaks Portuguese, but can - sorta - read it. Can even recognize and laugh at some jokes.)
Family? Well of course! Doesn't everyone? He has a sister and two brothers, a wife and an ex-wife, a daughter and two sons, four granddaughters and a grandson. Most of them are speaking to him.
Okay, if you're still reading then you must be interested. Thank you for your generosity. The website has lots of other pages where you can learn more. Let me tell you about some main topics.
Oh, wait. Before you go, you might be interested in my books.
_Fixes for No Problems_, _Navigating Maleness_, _Haiku Foryu_, _Poems for Harley Riders and Other Transcendentals_, and _Love in Interesting Times_.
They're all books of poems that have charmed readers and listeners both. Here's the link to learn more about them.
Okay, this is a little embarrassing. The table below represents intentions as well as what's actually ready. Bear with me, please. I'm catching up with my intentions.
- poetry & hosting
- exploring space with robots
- Harley-ing & promise to catch up
- computering for 47 years
- previous "homestead" first page (home page, index)
- homesteading conceit and homesteading
